The Georgian Quarter is Liverpool's most elegant district: terraces of brick townhouses, Hope Street linking the Anglican and Catholic cathedrals, the Philharmonic Hall and the ornate Philharmonic Dining Rooms pub.

It's residential, calm and uphill from the centre, about 15 minutes' walk to Liverpool ONE. Hotel choice is small but good.
