Halloween in Paris: Disneyland, Parc Astérix, the Catacombs and where to stay

Paris skips American-style trick-or-treating, but it has the Catacombs and two theme parks with full Halloween seasons. School holidays run 17 Oct – 2 Nov.

Opéra & Grands Boulevards, Paris

Where to stay for Halloween

Stay in Opéra & Grands Boulevards

Opéra sits on the RER A at Auber, the direct train to Disneyland's Halloween festival in about 40 minutes, and the Musée Grévin is open until 9pm round the corner. With more Métro lines than almost anywhere in Paris, the Catacombs and Père Lachaise are an easy ride.

FAQs

Is Halloween celebrated in Paris?

Less than in the US or UK, and trick-or-treating is rare in central Paris. But bars hold costume parties, the Catacombs are busy, and Disneyland Paris and Parc Astérix run big Halloween seasons.

When is Halloween at Disneyland Paris in 2026?

The Disney Halloween Festival runs from 26 September to 1 November 2026. On 31 October Disneyland Park is open until 11pm with extra entertainment, included in normal admission.

Can adults wear costumes at Disneyland Paris?

Yes, but masks and anything else covering the face aren't allowed.

Is 1 November a holiday in France?

Yes. Toussaint (All Saints' Day) is a public holiday; in 2026 it falls on a Sunday. Many shops close, cemeteries are busy with families, and it's the end of the school holidays, so trains and roads are crowded.

Where should I stay in Paris for Halloween?

Opéra, for the RER A to Disneyland, or Le Marais for the nightlife and Père Lachaise.
