You can go, but there's no event and the ward asks visitors not to come for Halloween. Drinking in public around Shibuya Station is banned from 6pm to 5am every day, so celebrate in the bars and clubs instead.
Is drinking on the street banned in Shinjuku at Halloween?
Yes. Around Shinjuku Station, street drinking is banned from 5pm on 31 October to 5am on 1 November 2026, and shops are asked to stop selling alcohol.
When is the Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival in 2026?
IKEHALO NIGHT at Sunshine City on Friday 30 October (4:30pm to 10:30pm, ages 18+), then the main festival on 31 October and 1 November from 10am to 6pm. Cosplayers need a registration ticket and must change on site.
Can adults wear costumes at Tokyo Disneyland for Halloween?
Yes, from 16 to 31 October 2026 (and 15 to 30 September), but only Disney character costumes that follow the parks' rules. There are no changing rooms in the parks.
