What it's like

The Seaport has grown from car parks into a modern district of offices, hotels, restaurants and rooftop bars along Boston Harbor. The Institute of Contemporary Art hangs over the water, the Harborwalk runs along the wharves, and the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center sits at its heart. Fort Point's old warehouses and the Boston Tea Party Ships are on its western edge.

It's a lively, modern base with the quickest ride from the airport, ideal for conventions. It lacks historic character, can feel windy and corporate, and it's a 15-minute walk to Downtown.
