What it's like

Greenwich is a UNESCO World Heritage site with its own pace: the Old Royal Naval College, the Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory on the hill, where you can stand on the Prime Meridian.

It's 30–40 minutes from the West End by DLR, train or river boat, so it suits slower trips, families and repeat visitors more than a first weekend in London.
