London rewards a plan. The big sights cluster in a few areas, many of the best museums are free, and choosing the right base can save you an hour a day on the Tube.

Westminster and the royal sights

Three to four days covers the main sights without rushing. With two days, focus on Westminster, the South Bank and one big museum.

Which London attractions are free?

Where should I stay to be close to the main sights?
