What it's like

Paddington is the practical choice: the Heathrow Express takes 15 minutes, the Elizabeth line reaches the West End in under ten, and Hyde Park is at the end of the road.

The streets around the station are functional rather than pretty, but Little Venice's canal boats and the Bayswater squares are a short walk away, and hotel rates are among the best in central London.
