What it's like

Siam is where the two BTS lines cross, surrounded by Siam Paragon, Siam Center, MBK and CentralWorld, with the Erawan Shrine a few minutes east. Skywalks link many of the malls and stations, so you can get around without crossing busy roads.

It's the most convenient base in the city: everything is a short Skytrain ride away, the malls have air conditioning, food courts and aquariums, and hotels range from hostels to big luxury names. It lacks old-city charm and nightlife is limited to hotel and rooftop bars.
