What it's like

Costa Mujeres and Playa Mujeres, north of the city, have been developed with big, modern all-inclusive resorts set along a calm, shallow beach looking across to Isla Mujeres. There's a golf course, and the resorts are self-contained, with their own restaurants, pools and kids' clubs.

It's ideal for a relaxed resort stay away from the Hotel Zone's crowds. There's nothing outside the resorts within walking distance, and it's 30–40 minutes to the airport and Punta Cancún.
