What it's like

Winter Park is Orlando's most attractive town: brick-paved Park Avenue with its shops and cafés, Central Park and its weekend farmers' market, the Scenic Boat Tour through a chain of lakes, and the Morse Museum's famous collection of Tiffany glass. Rollins College gives it a lively, academic feel.

It's a great base for a grown-up trip or a few calm days away from the parks, and SunRail connects it to Downtown Orlando. The theme parks are 30–45 minutes away by car, and hotels are few.
