What it's like

The Latin Quarter has been the student heart of Paris for 800 years. It's full of bookshops, cheap restaurants, cinemas and bars, and it runs from the Seine up to the Panthéon and the market street of rue Mouffetard.

Saint-Michel station has the RER B to the airport and the RER C to Versailles. The streets right by the river are touristy; stay higher up the hill for a calmer, more local feel.

Market street with cheap eats and bars.

  • Around the Panthéon

Quieter, with small hotels and cafés.
