What it's like

Kamala is a relaxed fishing village turned resort, with a long, calm beach, local seafood restaurants and the Carnival Magic theme park. The headland to the south, towards Patong, is lined with luxury villa resorts on the cliffs with views across the Andaman Sea.

It's a peaceful base that's still only 15–20 minutes from Patong's nightlife. Restaurants and shops are fewer than in Patong or Kata.
