What it's like

Jimbaran Bay is a long sweep of sand with gentle water, a morning fish market and, every evening, tables set on the beach for grilled seafood at sunset. Some of Bali's best resorts sit on the bay and on the cliffs at its southern end, close to Uluwatu.

It's a relaxed, family-friendly base close to the airport. There's little to do beyond the resorts and the beach, and nightlife is minimal.
