What it's like
Business Bay grew up along the Dubai Creek extension and the Water Canal, which now runs on to the sea at Jumeirah. It's mostly offices and apartments, with a canal-side walkway, plenty of hotels and Burj Khalifa views from many rooms.
It's a cheaper alternative to Downtown that's still close to it: the Dubai Mall is a short taxi ride or a long walk away. Some parts are still under construction, and away from the canal it can feel like a business district at night.
