Where to stay in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur's centre is compact but hot, humid and built for cars, so staying near a train or monorail station matters more than anywhere else. Stay in KLCC for the Petronas Towers and luxury hotels; in Bukit Bintang for malls, street food and nightlife; in Chinatown for heritage streets and the cheapest rooms; or by KL Sentral for the fastest airport train. Hotels are excellent value: five-star rooms cost a fraction of what they do in Singapore. It's warm all year, with heavy afternoon showers.
