What it's like

The South Strip is home to some of the biggest resorts in the world, from the MGM Grand to the Luxor pyramid and Mandalay Bay with its wave pool and beach. T-Mobile Arena and the Park MGM's dining scene sit at its northern edge, Allegiant Stadium is just across the freeway, and the famous 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign is at the far end.

It's closest to the airport, has big pools that suit families, and offers good value away from the weekend. It's a long walk to the Center Strip in the heat, though a free tram links Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur.
