What it's like

Summerlin is a planned community at the foot of the Spring Mountains, and its resorts feel far from the Strip's crowds. Red Rock Canyon's scenic drive and hiking trails are about 15 minutes away, and Downtown Summerlin has an outdoor shopping centre with restaurants.

It suits hikers, golfers and travellers who want a calm resort with Vegas nearby. The Strip is 25 minutes or more by car, public transport is slow, and you'll want a car to get the most out of it.
