Where to stay in Miami

Miami is two places: Miami Beach, a long barrier island of beaches and hotels, and the mainland city across Biscayne Bay. Stay in South Beach for Art Deco streets, the beach and nightlife; in Mid-Beach for big resort hotels and quieter sand; in Brickell or Downtown for skyline hotels, the free Metromover and good value; in Wynwood for street art and bars; or in Coconut Grove for a leafy, laid-back base. Winter is high season with the highest prices; summer is hot and humid with afternoon storms, and hurricane season runs June to November.
