What it's like

Belek grew up around its golf courses and the resorts that line its sandy beach, set among pine forests. It's quieter and more upmarket than Lara, and most hotels are large all-inclusive resorts with their own restaurants, pools and kids' clubs.

The Land of Legends theme park is nearby and the Roman theatre of Aspendos is about half an hour away. Antalya's old town is an hour away by taxi or bus, so treat it as a resort stay rather than a city base.
