What it's like

Kemer town has a marina, the Moonlight Park beach and a pedestrian centre of shops, restaurants and bars that stays busy late in summer. The villages around it, from Beldibi and Göynük in the north to Çamyuva and Tekirova in the south, are quieter, with large all-inclusive resorts among the pines.

The scenery is the draw: mountains straight behind the beach, clear water and the ruins of Phaselis in the forest. Beaches are pebbles rather than sand, the coast road is slow, and getting to Antalya's old town takes over an hour, so most guests stay put and take the odd day trip.
